Marell Boats enters the Qatar market

Marell has signed a distributor agreement with MCT Group to enter the Qatar market,

focusing on marketing, sales, and service of highperformance boats and interceptors for law enforcement, commercial and recreational customers.

The high-performance of the boats includes high speeds up to 75 knots and exceptional maneuverability combined with focus on technology and sustainability. All boats are built in marine-grade aluminum, employing strong and light-weight construction, with a renowned safe and fuel-efficient aluminum hull. Marell's flexible platforms, ranging from 9 to 19 meters, are constructed based on the same design principles, featuring a sharp bow, wide body, and moderate deadrise aft, to ensure a dry and stable craft in all weather conditions. This, combined with the signature central helm station and an almost absent planing threshold, provides the helmsman with full control and excellent 360-degree visibility at all speeds and in all conditions. At DIMDEX 2024 in Doha, Marell will showcase, together with their distributor MCT Group, a model of the M12 RIB that is excellent for patrolling missions, which the Norwegian marine police confirmed with their serial order of six vessels in 2022. The M12 craft is based on Marell’s proven M15 platform, which was awarded the "Interceptor of the Year" by the Baird publication in both 2019 and 2020. The M15 platform has been selected as a patrol vessel by the marine police in Stockholm, a fire-fighting craft by the Stockholm fire department, and a tour boat by Hurtigruten in Svalbard, Norway. These medium-sized patrol boats are optimal for patrolling and other assignments such as surveillance, search and rescue, boarding, and customs control. Moreover, the M12 wheelhouse provides space for two crew members seated in Ullman suspension chairs at the front, and for eight passengers seated in jockey seats behind. In the front of the cabin, there is a seating area with a small pantry and a toilet. The boat's wide beam allows for easy passage on both sides of the wheelhouse, from bow to stern. The low aft deck is particularly suitable for divers, drones, and life rafts, while also serving as an effective platform for hoisting and retrieving injured people.

The roof is made of vacuum-molded GRP to reduce weight and noise, and to insulate the crew area from the effects of both cold and warm weather. This innovative design approach makes the craft suitable for both arctic and tropical conditions. The M12 RIBs are typically equipped with a twin-engine setup, including the new Mercury 600HP V12 Verado engines, providing high propulsion efficiency over the entire speed range. This engine setup enables high-speed performance above 55 knots, and a triple configuration yield speeds up to 65 knots, which also has been delivered, as well as inboard versions with diesel sterndrive. The M12 platform can be configured as a Patrol, RIB, SAR, or Tour boat for government and commercial customers, alternatively as a Chase, Tender or Custom boat for recreational customers. In 2023, the M12 RIB was awarded the best RIB Patrol boat by the Baird publication. The latest model introduced by Marell Boats is the M17 series, featuring twin Scania engines and MJP waterjet, available in hybrid or straight diesel configuration. The M17 platform is also under construction with triple Volvo Penta IPS and with five Mercury outboard V12 engines, all based on the successful Marell hull platform with exceptional high-performance and efficiency.
